Inspiring Books

I thought I would blog about the books that have recently influence my life and work.

Power of the Five Elements by Charles A Moss MD

The five elements is the bases of all Chinese medicine, practitioners will work to balance the element of the person while treating the energy blockages throughout the meridians.

This book gives you a greater understanding into who you are, and why you react to stress in a certain way. There is a in depth quiz, to help you work out your element, and information and advice to improve your way of life.

I have used the principles of this book to enhance my treatments, and I feel I have gained more knowledge about my strengths and weakness as a person. I also feel I understand and except my friends more for the wonderful elements that they are!

You Can Heal Your Life by Louise L. Hay

The author of this book Louise Hay, has written a series of books on her strong holistic beliefs, explaining in detail the benefits of positive thinking and attitude. I chose this book to blog about because she backs up my hypothesis, that emotions are stored in our bodies, and that holistic therapies can help release them, to leave you with a feeling of well being.

She covers how every illness, and conditions, are caused by certain negative emotions. This is very interesting, and I enjoy using her affirmations to help treat various conditions. However I personally feel that sometimes things just happen to us for no apparent reason, just the fact that life isn't always fair!

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

I found The Four Agreements to be a great inspiring book. The author Don Miguel Ruiz details how following the four agreements can transform your life.

  • Don't make assumptions.

  • Don't take anything personally.

  • Be impeccable with your word.

  • Always do your best.

Since reading this book I feel I am more confident and relaxed within myself. I have noticed that I ask more questions if I am unsure about what I am being told, and I always tell my sons to do their best, and their best may be different to other people's best!

I hope if you decide to read these books that you enjoy them as much as I did.
